Mission Statement:
Preserving the Past for Our Future

Rio Blanco County Historical Society collects, preserves and interprets Rio Blanco County’s heritage and culture.

This is accomplished through:

  • Maintaining our unique curio museum.
  • Archiving and exhibiting our collections and photos.
  • Providing research resources of books, pamphlets, maps, charts, manuscripts, papers, photographs and other historic materials illustrative of the history of Rio Blanco County.
  • Teaching our heritage through educational programs, demonstrations, classes, tours, history camps, culture events, historical presentations.
  • Sharing all of these aspects through social networking, newsletters and personal communication.

Rio Blanco County Historical Society has a ten member board of directors.

Appointed underneath the board are committees that serve the organization in specific history/heritage projects.

The board meets 5:45 p.m. at the Heritage Building next to the White River Museum the last Tuesday of every month (except December as this is combined with the November meeting to allow for Christmas). Anyone may attend these board meetings.
