A historic presentation was well attended Sunday afternoon, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. in the Old West Heritage Culture Center, 517 Park Ave (next door to the Museum Garrison).

The program covered six characters who passed through Rio Blanco County from the late 1800’s through early 1950’s. Utilizing skits and a slide show, their colorful stories were shared. Mike Washburn was the narrator, Gary Zellars impersonated Teddy Roosevelt, Vanessa Trout danced to Windy City from the Doris Day, Calamity Jane movie, Gayle Rogers played Eleanor Roosevelt and Ellen Reichert and Chris from Meeker Cafe played a pioneer woman and Chief Colorow respectively. Following the program, several of those who attended shared their own stories related with these characters.

One person commented on how fun it was to learn history this way.
